Do I need to be on an OptiSEOn SEO plan to add citations? +

Yes. Citation packages are add-ons designed to complement an active SEO retainer. Citations alone will improve your local and AI visibility, but the biggest gains come when combined with ongoing content, technical SEO, and backlink work. If you're not yet on a plan, book a discovery call and we'll recommend the right package combination.

How long does the citation build take? +

The full submission process typically takes 20–30 days depending on the package size. Some platforms (like Google Business Profile and Apple Maps) require manual verification by the business owner, which can add a few days. We handle everything else — you'll receive progress updates and a final verified report with all live listing URLs.

What is NAP consistency and why does it matter? +

NAP stands for Name, Address, and Phone number. Google and AI platforms cross-reference your business information across hundreds of websites. If your name is spelled differently on Yelp vs. Yellow Pages, or your phone number is wrong on Apple Maps, these inconsistencies create conflicting entity signals that reduce trust. Before any submission, we establish a single source of truth for your NAP data and use it identically across all 260+ platforms.

Can I see results before they go live? +

Yes. We share a tracking spreadsheet as we work through submissions, updated with status (submitted, verified, live) and live listing URLs as they go live. At the end of the campaign you receive a complete submission report. Authority and Full Stack packages also include monthly AI visibility test logs.

What if I already have some directory listings? +

We check for existing listings before submitting. If you're already listed somewhere, we'll claim or update the existing listing rather than creating a duplicate — which could actually harm your SEO. Duplicates with inconsistent information are one of the most common citation problems we fix.

Is this a one-time service or ongoing? +

The build packages (Visibility, Authority, Dominant, Full Stack) are one-time setup fees. Once built, most listings are permanent. However, listings can decay over time — platforms go down, information changes, new high-value platforms emerge. The Monthly Maintenance add-on (49/mo) keeps everything accurate and adds new submissions as the platform landscape evolves.
